Dating in Ravenport isn't exactly difficult.

Dating in Ravenport isn't exactly difficult.

Finding somewhere to go, however, is another story.

There are plenty of nice restaurants, parks, cafés, and quiet places where you can take someone you're interested in.

Then there are the places where you should probably not take your date.

Especially if you want there to be a second date.

1. MargaritaCalls — Southern Ravenport Downtown

Let's start with MargaritaCalls.

Technically, it is a restaurant.

That's what the sign says, anyway.

The restaurant is located in Southern Ravenport Downtown, and from the outside, it doesn't look particularly unusual.

The problem begins when you learn what is underneath it.

MargaritaCalls is known for having a strip club underground.

And somehow, that's still not the strangest thing about the place.

There is also a bar toward the back entrance, meaning the building essentially has a restaurant at the top, a bar around the back, and a strip club underneath.

At this point, you have to wonder what exactly the original architect was trying to accomplish.

But the real reason MargaritaCalls makes this list is the staff.

There have been occasions where people sitting in the restaurant have noticed a seemingly drunk man wandering around and serving food to customers.

Nobody seemed entirely sure where he had come from.

The bar?

The underground club?

Some secret third location?

Nobody knew.

What everyone did know was that, somehow, he appeared to actually work there.

He was a server.

And apparently, that was enough qualification to carry plates around the restaurant.

Imagine sitting across from your date trying to have a romantic conversation while your waiter arrives looking like he has just returned from a completely different dimension.

"Enjoy your meal, Boss."

No.

Absolutely not.

MargaritaCalls might have good food.

It might even have good drinks.

But if your first date ends with your date asking:

"Why was our waiter drunk?"

you have already lost.

There are better places in Ravenport.

Probably.

2. Anywhere Your Friend Says "Trust Me"

This is less of a location and more of a warning.

If your friend suggests somewhere and their only explanation is:

"Trust me."

Don't.

Especially if they refuse to tell you where you're going.

Ravenport has enough strange places without voluntarily discovering another one on your first date.

3. Somewhere You Already Know You'll Regret

This should be obvious.

If you've been there before and your first thought was:

"I'm never coming back here."

Don't bring your date.

They're probably going to have the same thought.

Dating is difficult enough without adding questionable restaurants, mysterious waiters, and underground entertainment venues to the experience.

Choose somewhere normal.

Your date will appreciate it.
