Eastern Ravenport Police Investigate Bizarre Cases of People “Buying Humans”
According to police reports, the residents describe the people they acquired as unusually compatible companions who seem willing to do almost anything their new owners ask.
Several described them as "the better half of yourself."
"They understand me," one resident reportedly told investigators. "It's like they've known me my whole life."
Police initially treated the claims as possible evidence of human trafficking or an elaborate criminal operation.
But their investigations have produced an even stranger result.
The individuals at the center of the cases possess names, identification records, education histories, employment records and other personal information that appear completely legitimate.
More importantly, investigators say the people don't appear to have been kidnapped.
When questioned, they reportedly insist that they simply fell in love with the person who supposedly purchased them.
That explanation has left investigators struggling to understand what exactly is happening.
In one case, police reportedly spent days attempting to determine whether a woman had been illegally obtained by a local resident. Her records showed a normal life, including a documented family history and previous employment.
She told officers that she had willingly chosen to be with the man.
In another case, the alleged purchaser claimed he had found the company through an advertisement and paid for a person who would supposedly be perfectly compatible with him.
The person he received later told police that she wasn't being held against her will.
She simply loved him.
The pattern has now appeared often enough to attract police attention.
Investigators say the supposed company responsible for these transactions remains unidentified, and residents have provided remarkably similar descriptions of how they encountered it.
The strangest part may be what happens afterward.
People who claim to have purchased these companions insist that they aren't merely obedient.
They say these individuals somehow understand them on an unusually deep level, anticipating their emotions, preferences and needs with an accuracy that some describe as frightening.
Police have not publicly confirmed that any criminal organization exists behind the alleged transactions.
They also haven't explained how multiple unrelated residents could report such remarkably similar experiences.
For now, Eastern Ravenport police are treating the cases as separate investigations.
But as more residents come forward with nearly identical stories, investigators are beginning to wonder whether they are dealing with a sophisticated trafficking operation, an elaborate scam—or something that Ravenport has never encountered before.
One officer reportedly summarized the situation simply:
"Everyone involved insists they're in love. Nobody can explain where these people came from."
And somewhere in Eastern Ravenport, according to the growing number of reports, someone may already be looking for their next perfect match.
